List everything you have shipped, fixed, prevented, or figured out in the last two years that nobody outside your team has heard about.

Set a timer for fifteen minutes. Open a plain text file, not a document with formatting you will fiddle with instead of writing.

Work backwards through the last two years. Releases, incidents, migrations, reviews, the thing you talked someone out of. Include the work that went well enough that nobody noticed it happening, because that is most of it.

Do not filter. The filtering instinct is the whole problem: you are judging each item against what you imagine an impressive item looks like, and almost nothing survives that. Write it down first. Decide later, on Day 3, and only about three of them.

Done looks like a list you are slightly embarrassed by the length of. Most people sit down expecting five items and stop at twenty.

The one mistake: writing the item as a task instead of an outcome. "Refactored the export job" is a task. "Export job was timing out for the three biggest customers" is the start of something you can use. You do not have to get this right today, but if a line is doing nothing for you, add why it mattered.
