Qualified Isn't the Same as Understood
The easy trap in a job search is thinking you just need more interviews. If the right people don't understand what you're good at, more applications get the same result. Opportunities come from being understood, not just qualified.
One of the easiest traps in a developer job search is thinking: “I just need more interviews.”
Maybe.
But sometimes the real issue is earlier than that.
If the right people don’t understand what you’re good at, what kinds of problems you solve, or why your experience matters, you can send more applications and still keep getting the same result.
That’s why I keep coming back to visibility.
Not “become an influencer.” Not “post every day until strangers know your name.”
Visibility means the right people can actually see enough of your work, your thinking, and your experience to understand where you fit.
Because opportunities don’t just come from being qualified.
They come from being understood.
